This is a 1980 Shay which is a recreation of the 1928 Ford Model A Roadster by the Shay Manufacturing Corporation in Battle Creek, Michigan. Henry Shay worked with the Ford Motor Company and was given permission to recreate the 1928/9 Ford Model A Roadster. Shay"s Model A features a custom fiberglass body and a custom steel frame with a 1980 Pinto drive train. It has a stock 2.3 liter 4 Cylinder 1980 Pinto Engine. It also has a 1980 Pinto braking system featuring front disc brakes and rear drum brakes. Shay built about 4,000 Model A"s. Anyone truly interested in this automobile should absolutely research the Shay Model A on the internet, as it would take pages of detailed information to do that in this listing. For starters search for "Shay Ford Roadster". The features of this particular Shay are: * It is an original, well maintained, but not restored automobile with less than 9,000 miles (Garage Kept). * Very uncommon (but original) automatic transmission. * Dual Side Mounts (spare tires/wheel on each front fender). * Trunk Rack and Trunk * Custom Saddle Interior (I"ve never liked a black interior in a convertible - too hot when the sun hits it). * Dual A-ooga Horns * Stainless Radiator Stone Guard * New front brake calipers and new rear wheel cylinders (August 2000) * Antique wooden (Applewood?) Steering Wheel (original was a black padded wheel like a ford Fairmont). * New black runners for the running boards (included, but not installed). * The first time I"ve had the top out of the "Boot" is when these photographs were taken.
