You are bidding on a 1980 Jaguar XJ12L that has been professionally upgraded with a very reliable American Corvette 327 V8 power plant. This conversion was professionally done by Timmons Automotive Performance in Chico California years ago. I purchased this car over a year ago and have enjoyed owning it since. I have decided to reduce the number of classic cars in my collection so this special car is up for sale. I recently spent over $1500 to have the transmission fully serviced and installed new seals, battery, new intake manifold gasket, clutch fan, etc. This car has a decent paint job and appears to be a rust free California car. The interior is in pretty good shape with the exception of the rear seat has several split seams from age. The dash and carpet look nice. The brakes were recently replaced by the gentleman I purchased the car from. The air conditioning system is not connected but can be reconnected if desired. The car starts right up and drives like a dream. The only item requiring attention is the electric window switches need to be replaced. The prior owner provided new power window switches that still need to be installed. I have the original tool bag, jack, spare tire, and owners service manual. There are also some miscellaneous extra parts included. I have the original Timmons information pamphlet describing the benefits of having the American V8 conversion done. You get the Luxurious design and agility of a Classic Jaguar with the reliable proven performance of an American V8 powerplant. Replacement parts or upgrades for the powerplant are inexpensive and easy to find. The Radial tires are in good condition with lots of tread life left.
PLEASE NOTE: The car will not pass smog in California as the motor is older than the car year. Unless you live in a smog exempt area or license it out of state it will be difficult to get it licensed thru California DMV. It may be possible to apply for a special construction or Historical Vehicle Smog Exemption in California. This would be a great car for an out of state buyer with less stringent emission laws to deal with.
