Vehicle description
I am 88 years old and have been building, repairing and restoring cars for over 70 years. I found this car and have just finished repairing and updating. I have road tested for several months. Found few problems, all repaired and now there are none. Over the last 4 years, the following has been done, All water, engine and power steering hoses replaced with new. Rear differential rebuilt. Original radio repaired (not replaced). Engine mounts replaced. Rear brakes replaced, Front and rear suspension isolators, (mounts) replaced. Oil pressure switch replaced (new). These add up to over $4,250,00 and the receipts go with the car. And I have all three original keys ! My goal with this car was to keep it original. Always original Jaguar parts. The drivers seat lower front cushion has some cracks, the rest of the seats are in fine shape. The paint is original, not a respray.
This car has 315 HP, weighs over 5,000 gross, 0 to 60 6.8 seconds. Top speed, 155 mph. Not bad for a big sedan, 27 years old, and the engine does not burn oil !
In 1994, gas had jumped in price thus very few were sold as the XJ 6 got 18 MPG and the XJ 12 only gets 12 MPG. I am relisting with a fixed "buy it now" price.
