Vehicle description

About this vehicle This 1979 Toyota Pickup is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for car shows. Seller"s Notes I’m happy to assist with shipping, however this vehicle is ready to drive anywhere. Vehicle Details In 1979 there were 1089 Toyota dealerships in the US. To boost sales and bring attention to the new 4x4 pick up trucks, Toyota produced 1089 of these very special, fully loaded pickups in this unique color and with special badging. Each dealer got one. This one was number 267 of the 1089. This truck was reportedly bought new from Lance Motors in Ukiah California. The second owner bought it with 7000 miles on it in 1980. In 1983 it got a partial paint job to match a motor home. It stayed in Northern California until the nephew of the owner bought it and moved it to Salem Oregon. He sold it in 2010 to a collector in Florida that planned to restore it, but after three years of it sitting in a warehouse the owner sold it to me. I drove it home to Illinois. There I had a talented local Land Cruiser shop help me bring the vehicle back to what it is now. They removed the bed, repainted the rust free frame, cleaned the fuel tank, fixed any wiring issues including wiring the original radio to play from a new the speaker in the dash. There was very little rust on the vehicle, there was some surface rust on the bottom of the tailgate, and in the front corners of the bed that included a pin hole. All of that was professionally repaired. After several years there still is no sign of rust. The paint in the engine bay and the interior is still original. They beautifully painted the exterior of the vehicle in the original color code 336. We used very high quality single stage acrylic paint, they replaced the white lettering and the stainless steel cap on the tailgate. The body panels are super straight and the door and hood gaps are excellent. The original chrome looks great too. We cleaned the underside of the rig and painted some areas but didn’t overly restore the underside. All of the fluids were changed, Mobile one 80w90 was used in the axles, transmission and T case. Mobile one, 10w30 in the engine. All of the hydronic fluids were flushed. The brakes are excellent, the AC is ice cold, all of the electronics work as they should (Tachometer sticks sometimes). We just replaced the battery with a Toyota battery and a new Toyota clutch master cylinder. All of the hoses and belts are in great condition as well. The engine has aftermarket headers and a complete exhaust in excellent condition. The result of this work is that the vehicle is very reliable, comfortable, runs great and is a true piece of Toyota history. It is remarkably original, comes with really cool literature and vehicle sales history. It easily travels at 70 mph on the highway. The tires are taller than they would have been, but that helps with the highway speed (rubber overdrive) and I believe aesthetics. The tires are new 33x10.5x15 B.F.Goodrich all terrains mounted on factory FJ40 wheels painted in Cygnus white just as it would have been with new OEM hubcaps too. Some of the other non stock items are headers, floor mats, stainless steel tailgate cap, upholstery was replaced with high quality vinyl by a professional with the OEM look. The suspension is a 2.5” lift (OME?) with new shocks. I’ve owned this vehicle for about six years and driven it about 1000 miles. The VIN is RN37-001412. It has 71508 miles on it now. Anderson at Voodoo Cruisers is selling this for me and can answer any questions that you may have. Thanks for looking. Exterior Interior Engine Deposits are refundable. Created on the Motors app
