Vehicle description
1979 International Scout Midas Edition. I am the second owner, and have just redone the body and the engine. This vehicle is pretty original except it has a newly rebuilt 1975 392 improved Cooling engine that has been carefully broken in and is balanced and runs beautifully. The vehicle has had all the rust repaired and has had a new paint job done in the original color. I have used Amsoil exclusively in this engine with high zinc in in the 20w 50 weight. After using 30 weight break in oil. It does not use a drop of oil. It will run 75 on the highway all day long. It has almost every single option you could get on a 79 Scout, and cost almost $17,000 new. It has new brakes, shocks, drag link, and much more as well as many other new parts. It also has the factory trailer towing package with the auxiliary transmission cooler and factory-installed trailer hitch. The engine only has 2300 miles on it, the vehicle itself only has 106000 or so miles on it, and has been well maintained its whole life. And it has never been in a major Collision or had the top off for anything other than the replacement of the quarter panels. I replaced a lot of sheet metal on this truck even though it didn"t necessarily need to be replaced, so it would all be straight and look right. It has a totally rust-free windshield frame. Almost everything works or is capable of working with minor work. It has almost all of the Midas options and all of the regular Scout options. The reason I had replaced the engine was because the original one the bearings went bad in it. 3.54 gears with posi Trac in the rear end. Any questions feel free to contact me. The air conditioner compressor is not hooked up but system all there.
