This is the ‘holy grail’ of all JPS Esprits, the domestic car #001. This car was allocated build number 001 out of only 100 cars for the UK. Federal car 001 was reserved for Mario Andretti himself. Bell & Covill had reserved car #001 and it was later their company car. This car is 1 of only 1 1978 JPS cars, all others were titled as 79’s. It’s also the only JPS car that had a Bell & Covill dealer installed turbo and sunroof. The car needs a total restoration, but a piece of Lotus history worth saving.
