Here is an all original 1978 International Scout 2 with 63,780 original miles. It just passed CA SMOG was partially restored 2 years ago.
This truck is extremely reliable and is considered to be an excellent daily driver.
MECHANICAL Holley Sniper EFI system installed 2 months ago New starter, alternator and water pump New suspension, shocks, bushings, steering dampener, and leaf springs All new fuel system with gas tank dropped and sealed. New fuel lines, filter, regulator and sending unit The AC is ICE cold and converted to 134A The brakes have all been replaced - front disk brakes - rear drum - including all of the brake lines Brand new BFG All Terrain K02 tires. 31" 10.5 r 15 New wires, plugs and ignition coil The distributor and cap were replaced 2 weeks ago The radiator was replaced 2 years ago and recently serviced Brand new battery and cables The power steering pump was replaced two years ago The motor has excellent compression and runs strong The transmission shifts smoothly into all gears and the transfer case transfers effortlessly in 4WD. There are currently no leaks underneath with all seals replaced 2 years ago. Including the rear main
EXTERIOR The frame is in excellent condition with no rust The bumpers have been re chromed and straightened The entire rear cargo area has been gutted and replaced with all new steel floor pans, side pans and upper rails. We coated the new steel cargo area with POR 15 for the undercarriage and matched the original paint on the inside under the carpet. The tailgate was also painted and stripped of any rust. All new steel beams were installed to hold the gas tank. Pictures of the restoration available upon request Aside from the repairs above the rest of the paint is original and in good shape. There are some minor surface rust spots on the doors The glass in in great shape and the rear cargo windows slide and lock as they should. Front windows roll up and down with ease.
INTERIOR The dash is original with no cracks whatsoever Brand new carpet with matching carpet mats The seats have been finished with new OEM material for the bolsters and the center has the original 1970"s fabric Tuffy center console with matching material for the top The roll cage has been powder-coated and shoulder belts have been added Double din stereo with Apple Car Play and reverse cameras - new speakers Keyless entry The headliner is all original and in good shape. The side fiberglass is in excellent shape with no cracks for easy removal
