1978 F250 Ranger XLT. Door code 133BUF264FR4G37A. Engine is the 400cu / 6.6L v8. 3 speed automatic transmission. Rear axle is 3.54 ratio, front is 3.8. Has a tow package, working condition unknown. Engine turns over and runs, but the truck is otherwise in rough shape. Suitable as a parts mule or major project. I purchased this with the intention of rebuilding it just enough to make a workable runaround-the-farm truck. Didn"t take long for me to realize the project was beyond my resources, financial and otherwise. This would make a good parts truck for another project. It will require a full teardown and rebuild if it is to be restored. Fully restored versions of these trucks are highly desirable. Fuels tanks are both sludged up and useless. Transmission in unknown condition. I was able to drive it around the farm a bit, but it"s not happy. Leaking fluid. Floor pans are done, but I will include new ones sourced from LMC (see full list below). No exhaust or mufflers (but again, I bought new set and will include them). Rims are 16.5"s, all 4 tires dry rotted, front left deflated. All rubber body seals are done. Frame has surface rust but is solid, no holes. Steering column is wobbly. Brakes actually work okay; disc in front and drums on the rear. Rear suspension is leaf springs, while fronts are coils. New Battery. This is a really beautiful truck from a bygone era. I had high hopes for it. I pray someone is able to make something of it. If I can"t sell it for at least the cost of the new parts I bought, I"ll have to scrap it. That would be a sad and cruel fate for such a classic. But I really can"t have it hanging around the farm, taking up space and slowly returning to the earth.
