Vehicle description

1977 Pontiac Can Am
The Pontiac Can Am was offered as a one year only model with a very limited production run of 1377 cars. Can Am"s were powered by either a Pontiac 400 or Oldsmobile 403ci engine depending on where they were sold new. California and high altitude area"s received the Oldsmobile powered Can Am"s. This car was sold new at Tower Pontiac-Cadillac in Hanford Ca and still retains it"s matching numbers 403ci engine. It is believed that less than 100 Can Am"s were produced with the Oldsmobile 403 making it a very rare Pontiac. This is a running and driving car that"s been used a weekend cruiser. The cylinder heads were done 5 or 6 years ago. The engine runs strong and does not smoke or leak oil. The transmission shifts as it should and has no issues. The Can Am is a driver with mostly original paint and decals. The odometer stopped working several years ago and shows 40k miles. I"m sure it"s rolled over at least once so figure current miles at close to 150K. The interior has had some work done but still needs attention as you can see. The rear seat was recently reupholstered to a very high standard. The original front seat will be included. The headliner and sun visor"s are in very nice condition. The Ca sun has baked and warped the dash. The Can Am is basically rust free other than some small pin holes in the passenger side front floor board that were wire brushed, cleaned and sealed /treated with Por15. Black Por15 is visible on the rear passenger side floor board also just to seal some light surface rust. I"ve included numerous undercarriage photo"s to show the overall rust free condition.
The Can Am does has a salvaged title due to a front end collision in the late 80"s. This may or may not be a issue depending on the state you reside in. Please message me with any questions regarding the title or general condition of the Can Am.
Recent upgrades and new parts added include. Fuel sending unit Interstate Battery Cooper Cobra 255/60-15"s 4-row radiator Bilstein Rear shocks Scat Rally front seat reupholstered rear seat Magnaflow dual exhaust Weatherproof fitted car cover Gauge cluster with Tachometer PHS Packet
