Vehicle description
This is a very cool and rare 1977 International Harvester Scout II that is almost all-original. We replaced the brakes, rebuilt the carburetor and installed a polyurea-lined gas tank. 345Ci V8 fires up, runs/drives/shifts/steers well. The body and paint could use some attention, as there are a few dents and dings, along with some surface rust here and there (see close up pictures). We purchased this Scout from the original owner, who kept the truck in Texas for almost it"s entire life. Undercarriage is also in good shape, showing surface rust but doesn"t appear to be anything of serious note (please see pictures). 3-speed manual transmission, clutch and 4X4 are all currently in working order. The previous owner installed a digital radio head unit and speakers, but would personally recommend changing these out, as they don"t exactly "jam", if you will. Overall the interior is in very solid condition considering the age. A couple of tears in the seats, and the headliner is starting to delaminate slightly at the driver"s side rear of the cab. A/C is currently NOT in working order
Odometer reads 00,321 miles and has clearly rolled over at least once.
This Scout has great bones and loads of character. With a little TLC and some aesthetic attention, there"s great potential for this to be something really cool. We would love to get it in the hands of someone who can give it the attention and care it needs and restore it to it"s former glory, if they see fit.
