Vehicle description

Excalibur car. Local pickup only. * very rare* This is 1 of 222 Phaeton"s built in 1977! This 77 Excalibur Phaeton has the original hard fiberglass top and White canvas cover, rear trunk (black leather riveted corners), trunk cover for weather protection, it has Bluetooth CD player installed with updated speaker system and original grills put over the speaker, it has a 4.1 L GM inline 6-cylinder single-barrel Rochester B carbureted engine, turbo 400 automatic transmission and this car only has 11,580 miles on it. It was kept in it airplane Hangar most of it"s life the original owner had the 454 engine that came in it removed to rebuild for higher horsepower capability with Paxton Supercharger. The owner had the company that pulled the engine and fenders install a brand new GM inline 6 so it could be driven when he wanted to and get it back to his storage area to wait until they had the Performance Engine finished. With in an unknown amount of time the owner a single unmarried older gentleman unexpectedly passed away, this car was in the airport Hangar for years that was used for storage rental, when they realized after some time that the car storage lease had run out of funding they auction the car off in a storage auction. A dealership in Medina Ohio bought this vehicle at the auction with no title, the car was on their lot for no more than a week before a guy happened to see the car and purchase it from the dealer before they even had time to apply for the title on this classic car. This man that bought the car had tinkered with the vehicle to try to get it running again after sitting for years in storage. He took the car to some franchise operations and they took his money accomplish nothing the card never started for him in the year that he owned it he lost interest not being able to drive the car and putting money into it Towing it from shop to shop trying to find someone that could get it running. I bought the car from this owner middle of the summer in 18 I"ve worked on cars for a living little over 20 years now at this point and didn"t know what to expect I knew I wanted the car though and would get it running one way or another. My plans were to pull the engine and put the 454 back in it that should be in it I have the original flex pipe exhaust that was passed through the possessions that were with the car along with the trunk in the trunk had lighting fixtures and Chrome brackets stuff that the company that pulled the engine would have removed to get the engine out all that is in the leather trunk that comes with this car. So I got started looking at this inline 6 engine in the car, and to me it looks like an engine from the late 70s and early 80s but in new condition basically from the outside View, I pulled the spark plugs inspected the cylinders with a borescope and found that the engine was stuck from just sitting so long it miraculously wasn"t ruined though and didn"t really need much to get running. I filled the cylinders with penetrating oil pulled the drain plug on the oil pan took the oil filter off and while the cylinders were soaking for about a week I worked on other parts of the car flushed and bled the 6 piston front caliper and 4 piston rear caliper disc brake system out pulled the transmission oil pan changed filter and refill transmission fluid remove transmission cooler line in when I was able to finally start it flushed the remaining torque converter fluid from the car. I installed new thermostat and housing with rubber O ring style updated gasket, flush the cooling system before I did that put new V belts on the car for the accessory drives, flush the power steering pump and gearbox, installed new battery and after cranking the engine finally turning over now with the starter it blew the penetrating oil out of the spark plug holes. I cleaned everything installed new AC Delco spark plugs set to the correct Gap, put new points and condenser in the distributor cap installed a new ignition coil, pulled the line from the cam driven fuel pump on the side of the engine and put a hose into a clean gas can with 5 gallons of new gas in it. Shrewd a new oil filter on it and put 10-30 in it topped off the antifreeze and transmission fluid started the car finish the transmission flush and topped off the power steering fluid the car has ran great ever since. I love driving this car the amount of people which is everyone you drive by staring pointing smiling Etc is a riot to see. This car is pretty wild looking almost like a classy Rat Rod without the fiberglass fenders and spare tires on it. I love the car I wanted to buy the fiberglass fenders that you can on here for a gentleman that repops old fenders and body parts out of fiberglass. Times have come upon me that I can"t change in any other way than liquidate some of my unneeded assets to keep my needed assets. This seems to be happening a lot these days and it is unfortunate in my situation because I could get a lot more for the car if it had been finished with the fenders in the 454 installed spare tires in spare tire ring covers with mirrors attached, air out front and lighting for turn signals Etc some of these pieces are in the leather trunk that came with it I do have the factory side pipes with the flex they went to the Custom Stainless box manifolds that would have to be built to install the 454 and this exhaust system. All this work that needed done was no problem for me I have the capabilities. In the short story version this ended with me selling it now on before it was finished without a title that has to be applied for and can be shortened up with a custom car build title if you wanted but if you go through the full process you can have the title to an original Excalibur Phaeton. The only thing that I received from the man that I bought it from was bill of sale in the car with a set of keys that I loaded on a car trailer and hauled home. If you"re interested in purchasing this car through this auction you will get everything that I have for this car I bought a set of four Dayton spoke wheels that fit it and brand new tires. I installed the front wheels and tires but when I got to the rear they would not clear it needs 2 in spacers so the rear wheels will clear the control arms the wheels and tires that came on the car are the same diameter wheel and if you like the big white wall tires as I do can be swap to the Dayton spoke wheel and would look amazing! These are my opinions and you can do as you please but you will get the car with the Dayton spoke wheels on the front the black steel wheels with spoke hubcaps and white walls on the rear. You will also get the other two Dayton spoke wheels with new Dunlop tires on them that I didn"t get a chance to install yet with the 2 in spacers, also get the two black steel wheels with spoke hubcaps and white wall tires that I pulled from the rear to put the Dayton ones on, the leather trunk with the belongings inside it some extra wind flaps that are clear fiberglass and go beside the windshield lighting brackets license plate mounts Etc. The original side Pipe exhaust with flexes come with it they insert and run to the mounted exhaust that is under the running board and routed to the rear Muffler the car all of this exhaust system is original and in perfect shape. Message me with any questions you have if you"re a serious buyer and ready to bid on this car it will sell no Reserve in 7 days to the highest bidder after the first bids at a minimum of $10,000 I do have a Buy It Now button setup at $20,000 if you want to skip the auction and not taking a chance of someone else buying this gem. Thanks you guys that are interested and excited as I was when I bought the car, happy bidding!
