“A highly original and rare 1976 Scout Traveler. Lots of documentation including the original window sticker. Original owner bought the vehicle in NE Oklahoma and owned it until 2013. Although the owner did keep it in the garage, it did contract typical Scout body rust from daily driving. The original owner tried unsuccessfully to fix the body rust and you should be able to see that in the pictures. The frame, floor, and undercarriage are solid. Interior is virtually untouched and so is under the hood. Great candidate for a restoration. See more info in the description.”

Vehicle description

1976 Scout Traveler 4x4. A remarkable International survivor with great history and original documentation including: the original window sticker, the first inspection in 1975 and subsequent inspection receipts, most registration receipts, insurance verifications dating back to 1983, various maintenance receipts, and the original owners manual. The original owner bought this Scout in Locust Grove, OK (see original window sticker) and owned it until 2013. It was a daily driver and garage kept. Does have some rust in the body as you can see in the pictures, but the frame, floors, and undercarriage are solid. The vehicle remains mostly untouched on the interior and even still has the CB radio the original owner installed just after buying it.
This Scout has automatic, power steering and brakes as well as AC that still works, on R12. It is 4 wheel-drive. It runs and drives. With new tires it would go anywhere. This vehicle is truly a rare find. It is amazingly original. It did require a new master brake cylinder but virtually everything else on the truck is from 1976. Although the original owner went to great lengths to preserve the Scout in its originality, they did try unsuccessfully to cover the rust over and in front of the rear wheels. This is a great candidate for restoration. Our plan was to do some body work and a repaint and drive it. Other priorities have changed our plans.
I have many more pictures and a video of it running that I can send via text or email if interested. Feel free to ask questions through or text or call with questions at 405-550-2440.
There are few if any original Travelers for sale. Find another one.
