Vehicle description
1976 BMW 2002, Automatic, Polaris silver, sunroof. Purchased in 2013 from Select Classic Sales, Dallas TX. Was planning to do a resto-mod into a 2002 Turbo look. Never got around to it. I paid $16,600 for the vehicle from Select Classic Car Sales. This included wider rims and tires, classic chrome rear bumper, leather front bucket seats from BMW 633CSi, front spoiler. Select Classic gave it a new Polaris silver paint job at the time I purchased. I was going to add fender flares to accommodate the wider wheels and tires and put in a new, bigger engine and transmission along with turbo stripes, but have not done so. Engine and transmission seem like good originals, in tired but daily driving condition. Odometer did not work when received it, but works and shows 87,672 miles now. The are certainly NOT actual miles. Given condition of engine and transmission, I would guess it has a pretty well cared for 187,672 original miles on it, but this is only a guess. I am no expert on BMW"s or 2002 models, just love the look of these cars, particularly Turbo style resto-mods. After purchase, I spent $6328.07 at Sterling BMW of Newport Beach for replacement of leaking transmission fluid lines, replacement of an old cracked oil line, and gaskets, correct wiper blades, a new steering box (twice) to replace the original that dripped, door and sunroof gaskets, accelerator pedal return spring, steering tie rod and center link, drive line U-joint and center mount, new brake light bulbs, and fixed hazard light switch, speedometer, transmission pan gasket and speedometer cable seals. I went through and took care of lots of the little things to make suitable for regular driving. I have invested almost $22,900 and have to hand it off now to someone who will see it through.
