Vehicle description
I have a 1975 Oldsmobile Starfire 2 door hatchback for sale. Same exact model as the Chevy Monza but with different fender badging. More rare because of the Monza, Skyhawk and Starfire, the Starfire remains with the lowest production numbers. This is an original California car with original blue and yellow plates. Purchased from the original owner in San Jose. Only year to have full instrumentation panel with tachometer and the first and only year not to require California smog. Tachometer and speedometer work great. However since it has a 350 Vortec motor and a 10 bolt rear end with 2:73 gears and a posi traction it does not read accurately. It actually hard to dip your head down to check speed anyway. There is a garmin gps a small 4 inch model that is suctioned below the rearview mirror where you can read the actual mileage you are driving. I have been restoring this car for over 7 years. It is an original V6 Oddfire 3.8 cylinder car. The monza was the only model to come with the V8. Last year I had a 350 Vortec motor, original fuel injection switched over to carbeuration with a brand new 600 Edelbrock carbeurator. Motor is a low mileage motor with approximately 30,000 miles that came out of a 1986 Chevy Silverado that had been rear ended. 350 turbo transmission is standard. These vehicles from gm were only produced in Quebec, Canada and even though the Monzas were the only ones to receive V8 engines, the chassis and tranny were set up in the Buick Skyhawk and Olds Starfire to accomodate a V8 transplant. The interior in the car was completed redone with soundproofing in the carpets. The headliner which is pretty cherry is original. It does need a new replacement driver"s side visor. Door panels are original except for brand new aftermarket handle buckets on inner interior on both driver and passenger door. Car has a killer era correct am/fm 8 track stereo. It is actually digital, but the digtial part doesn"t light up correctly so you have to search for a station. Plus these cars only came with the antenna in the windshield so hard to get a station. Does have a brand new windshield with antenna in glass. Has newer style 1978 Chevrolet Monza bumper with Monza rear spoiler. Tires have been switched from 13 inch to 14 inch with larger wider tires in the rear and era correct mag wheels with offsets in the rear. Brand new exhaust system with wide mouth tailpiper. Unibody has been reinforced by professional car builder. Stereo includes two rear speakers, woofer and amp. Dash has pad and dash itself is nearly perfect except for one minor crack on the edge near windshield. Has aftermarket gauges recently installed under dash to include water temperature and battery. Fuel gauge recently stopped working. Looking in to get that fixed. Got new heater installed, but not blowing hot. Suspect that because of the larger engine might have to switch to larger radiator. Car does not overheat. Fan kicks on when car is hot and cools engine like it is suppose to. It is an original A/C car but air conditioner was removed when I got the car. Car is super fast and runs like a raped ape. Most of the time I have to wear a diaper when I drive it. This has the motor GM should have put in this car. The paint is original which is called Sebring Yellow. It does need a paint job, but no rust and no rot. If I am counting I would say the car has about 7 dings in the body. The body is very unique and rare and these cars were modeled after a 1969 Ferrari Daytona GT. Anyone can buy a Camaro or Mustang, but who has a Starfire. I am not showing this car locally, it is on Ebay for my convenience. This is a bank wire transfire purchase only. Total funds must be transferred within 3 days of auction"s close and vehicle must be picked up within 2 weeks of auction. I have been on Ebay for over 20 years. I have brokered over hundred of vehicles on Ebay for a living and have 100% percent positive feedback and over 1.8 million sales. If you have any questions or concerns please feel to email me. If you have low or zero feedback I will cancel your bid. As always serious buyers only with the funds. I am only selling because of my financial situation and also my living situation. A lot of money and blood sweat and tears went into this car. This was my dream vehicle and I am very sad to see it go. I appreciate you visiting my auction. Good luck and happy bidding.
Also as a side note purchase comes with a box of extra parts including color correct quarter louvers, very rare and lots of other goodies, like fuel filters, transmission screen, decals for center caps on mag wheels, belts, etc.
