Vehicle description
1975 Delta 88 Royale. 1975 was the final yearthat the Delta 88 Royale convertible was build- less than 7200 were produced. The headline on a print ad in ‘75 for this car read: “Today a beautiful Olds convertible. Tomorrow, a collector’s item.” This car turns heads but it is not fully restored- just nicely kept and well maintained. I’ve owned it for roughly 15 years. Purchased it for $6500 and over those years I have put about $11,000 into it. Repainted, new carpet and upholstery, new convertible top, new front-end. This would be a great car to restore if that is what you wanted to do, or you can drive it daily. Once again, IT IS NOT RESTORED, it just looks really good from 5 feet away. It runs well and the AC works. There are a handful of issues- ie, I can"t find an original radio that fits- I put a new one in the glovebox. There is a little rust on rear panel next to top. Dash lights don"t work. Rear driver side window doesn"t quite line up. But, it will start right up and you can feel comfortable taking it on long drives. It is mechanically sound. Honestly, I keep the top and windows down, the boot on, and just drive it on nice days. The biggest issue is that people want to stop and reminice when they see it. ."oh, when I was in high school, I use to have a car like that. . "
