Vehicle description
I am the 3rd owner of this 42 year old car. I have put a lot of time, money, and sweat into this vehicle and it’s very very close to being road worthy.
The car has the 2.8L L28 In-line 6 Cylinder engine with a 4-speed manual transmission. N42 head. I have a spare 5-speed transmission from a 1979 280ZX that I never had the time to install. It will be included at no additional cost.
Here’s what’s been done: -MSA Premium Headers and Exhaust -Fuel Injectors -Fuel Injector O-Rings -Fuel Filter -Fuel tank cleaned and sealed to prevent further rust -Alternator -Spark Plugs -Wires -Air Filter -Water Pump -Thermostat -Radiator -PCV Valve -Water temp sensor -Cylinder head temp sensor -Distributor Cap -Distributor Rotor -Fuel Lines -Master Cylinder
I’m sure there’s more I can’t think of right now.
The car is 42 years old so it’s not perfect. Has rust in the usual places for Z cars. It’ll start up and drive, but it will need to be towed. There was a stud that holds the header and intake manifold to the engine that I could not remove so the intake/exhaust gasket is not sealed properly causing coolant to leak. I have all new studs and bolts for the thermostat housing and manifold but I do not have the tools to remove the stud that is stuck.
I had to move the vehicle from where I was working on it so I was forced to put it back together without fixing the stud. Otherwise I have no doubt that the car could be driven daily. My apartment complex does not allow for mechanical work to be done in the parking lot, so my restoration has come to a halt.
The car has many custom options done to it including the California Style Spoiler, rear windshield louver, pin-striping, and the Datsun “Z” logo laser etched into the rear windows and side mirrors.
Car will include custom license plate SNA-Z (Supposed to be read as “snazzy”).
Car has a clean Washington title.
I’d like to see it go to someone who will take the time to restore it properly.
If you would like more pictures of specific things, or videos of the car running I can give my number to serious buyers and I will provide those things.
Buyer is responsible for picking up the vehicle or transportation of the vehicle.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to hear from the right person soon.
