Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1974 Toyota Corolla is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle is drivable and is used as a daily driver. Seller"s Notes I also noticed that the passenger door doesn’t want to open. This is a cool car been sitting in Dallas for a while. I am helping my client to find a good home for it. Vehicle Details My mechanics report : 1974 Toyota Corolla GT with a 1.6L 4 cylinder. This vehicle has been sitting for a few years. Vehicle starts right away but will need a new battery. The charging system is in good condition. The vehicle has no issue with overheating. It runs and drives well but will need a 4 wheel brake job. The carb has a leak and will need to be rebuilt but it does run and drive now. The tires are old but have good tread. The exhaust system is in good condition. The vehicle does not smoke at idle or under acceleration. The transmission shifts well and there are no clutch issues. The vehicle has an aftermarket stereo system THIS IS A FACTORY AC CAR! ! The AC system will need to be serviced and need a new condenser but a factory AC Corolla from 1974 is a rare option. The vehicle has had the drivers fender replaced and is originally white with paint code 007. There is some rust on the front fenders up top and in the back trunk area. All the windows roll up and down and all lights and accessories, except AC work. The vehicle needs a good pressure wash and detailed cleaning and it will look great. The vehicle has 3 of the 4 original hub caps. The interior has a dash pad. The seats and panels are in fair to good condition. This is an excellent vehicle for its age and a great candidate for a restoration to make it a cruiser Owners description: 2nd owner selling classic Toyota Corolla Coupe. Currently registered, with Texas Classic Car plates. Project car needs significant TLC but is drivable - original engine is sound. Outside: Rusted through in several small/moderate spots on outer body. Hood is wrinkled from a rear-ender 19 years ago. (Shop couldn't find a replacement and straightened it out as much as possible. Not too bad, really, I got used to it, hardly ever notice.) Whole car repainted c1995. Inside: Driver seat needs springs and reupholstering. Passenger seat has a split along front seam, a tape patch covers it. Rear seats completely intact. Headliner has developed splits recently, should be replaced. Glove compartment torn up when a radio was installed. Underneath: Floorboard rusted through last year under driver's seat, temporary fix. Spare tire well rusted through, urgent fix needed. (I thought of a fiberglass well dropped in.) 4 new tires in 2016. This car has been driven very little in the past 20 years, very short distances. Driven hardly at all in past 3 years. I bought the car in 1983 from Treadaway Toyota in Dallas immediately after the 1st owner traded in with 108,000 miles on it in 10 years. I've put 170,000 miles on it in the past 37 years. She kept records of all maintenance. I have too, although only in the form of receipts. It needs and deserves that TLC. Looking for a buyer who wants to restore it.
