Vehicle description
Hi Thank you for checking out our auction, Up for sale is an extremely rare 1974 Bricklin SV1 with only 6667 miles original miles on the odometer. The body lines of this car seem timeless especially the Gull Wing style Doors. The production number on these cars were low, doing some research we believe only 2900 Bricklins were documented to exist, this 1974 SV1 being auctioned is car # 425 off the assembly line out of only 780 produced in 1974. Despite the reputation in which the Bricklin SV1 was given early on, this is still truly a remarkable car and light years ahead of its time. Until discovering this one I had never dealt with a Bricklin and I must admit was a bit uneducated about the SV1"s. After speaking with staff at Bricklin Parts of Virginia located in Bedford VA I discovered the true legacy these cars have now established. As a car guy at heart myself, Much Thanks to Bricklin Parts of VA and perhaps other shops that have right the wrongs this car had endured early on during it"s production stages, in fact you can now buy this car with the confidence of knowing you can get parts and priceless knowledge to aid in the restoration phase and or customization. The passion Bricklin Parts of VA guys have for Bricklins you will inexplicably feed off their energy and love for the brand. The words that echo in mind is one that a staff member from Bricklin Parts of Virginia said ("I am not a car guy but a Bricklin guy"), meaning they have for the last 40 plus years only worked on and supported Bricklins. The low mileage (6667) and low assembly number (0425) on this Bricklin makes it an excellent restoration candidate, the AMC 360 engine and Transmission still runs great, the interior will need restoring, the Gull Wing door hardware is all present despite the props being used in the pictures to hold them open, the previous owner had put in a temporary fuel cell (you will need a new gas tank if restoring to OEM) and you will need the two replacement rear side windows (Please see Pictures). Feel free to request more pictures and I will email them to you. I don"t deal with any junk, this 1974 Bricklin SV1 is another amazing find and of course the real deal. Please check out my feedback and bid with confidence. We Thank you for your time. AL
