I purchased from a friend that had owned this vehicle for the past 23 years. He used in severe weather to plow the snow from his street and only drove it occasionally. In 1997 it had 82,000 original miles. Today it has 95,564. Originally it was a 6 cylinder but he installed a 304 V8. A few years ago he rebuilt the 304 and rebuilt the automatic transmission. Engine runs very smooth and transmission shifts smoothly. 4 wheel drive works as it should. It drives very well as he had front end rebuilt also. Has power steering and power brakes. Drivers seat has tear in edge of the seat. Since I purchased earlier this year I have installed new dual exhaust with glass pack mufflers, new pioneer stereo, new Ion 15 inch wheels with new Disk Cepek, Xtreme Country 33-10-50 tires and rear shocks, with a 3 inch body lift and front seat cover. Scout comes with snow plow and like new winch that controls snow plow with in-cab remote. Has dual batteries and power outlet in front and has plug in for block heater for cold weather. Has usual rust for a 47 year old scout. Bottom of doors have rust on outside of the doors. Some rust above wheel wells and some on front fenders as shown in photos. Rails are super solid with only surface rust. Floor pans have been patched at some time. Overall it is a cool scout for a everyday driver (very dependable) or restore and you"ve got a $30,000 plus vehicle.
