Vehicle description
This car is an absolute time capsule! It"s been off the road and in storage since the early 80s. I"m the second owner, the first owner was a local Detroit area hot rodder, he worked for Chrysler in a prototype sheet metal shop, and custom ordered this car. I have the original special order dealership paperwork. I also have the window sticker, two build sheets, and pictures of the car when it was brand new.
Robert (original owner) added a lot of custom made polished stainless trim throughout the car, mainly under the hood, but it"s also done in the jambs and cargo compartment. He also built the custom hideaway headlights, which open and close flawlessly using factory parts.
After I took ownership I went through the brakes, rebuilt the carb, flushed the fluids, put a new fuel pump on it, went through the AC and started driving it. Everything works as it should, even the cruise control! The big block 400 runs great, and the trans shifts nice. It has a stainless dual exhaust system with large mufflers, and aluminized tail pipes. The car was undercoated when it was new. There is no rust or rot anywhere. Zero.
The interior is near flawless, with very little wear. There are no rips or tears anywhere. The power windows all work, the tailgate glass works, and it even still works with the key! The power locks work, but the rears are a little sticky. It has Chrysler floor mats, which have protected the carpet. It has vintage Goodyear Invicta tires that have zero dry rot and are in new condition. The spare tire has also been upgraded to a road wheel and it has a matching Goodyear Invicta.
Options include:
*Power windows *Power front seats *Cruise control- works great! *Air conditioning - blows cold *Rear defrost *3rd row seat *Limited slip rear axle *Power locks *Power rear window The body and paint are in excellent condition, there"s no evidence of an overall repaint. The hood has minor checking, and the front facia has been repainted. The only reason I know that is because in original photos of the car the pinstriping on the facia is different than it is now. The color match is near perfect. The car was Ziebart undercoated when it was brand new, so there isn"t any rust on the undercarriage. The chrome bumpers shine nicely, and the dual tailgate works both ways.
This car was Robert"s pride and joy, its been all over the country, including Alaska via ferry from Washington state! I have a lot of original pictures and documentation from when the car was new, and two build sheets. You"ll be hard pressed to find another Mopar full size station wagon that is this well documented and in this good of shape. There"s honestly too much stuff to describe online, you have to see the car in person to appreciate it and take it all in. The only issues I know about are the radio only works once in a great while and the power antenna is stuck halfway up. The radio isn"t the original one, it"s a late 70s digital Mopar one and it has a feature where you can tune it with a foot switch next to the headlight dimmer.
Call or text with questions, out of state buyers are encouraged to have a third party inspect the car. 5862120799 A 500 dollar deposit is due via PayPal immediately after the auction ends, and full payment within 7 days. If this will be a problem let me know beforehand and maybe we can work something out. If you have no intention of buying this car please don"t bid on it. I can store the car for 10 days after the auction ends, thats plenty of time to arrange transport, or you can drive it home.
I will be more than happy to take additional pictures for anyone, just let me know.
