Vehicle description

1974 Dodge Dart Swinger VIN: L23C48180004, 225CID Six cylinder, Automatic, ODO 125,410
Great opportunity for somebody looking for a solid future investment, a great cruiser for fun, a clean project car or all of the above! I picked this beauty up off a nice guy who simply needed to sell it and I was looking to build it as my A body classic. Now I just picked up a sweet B body last week and figured I’d pass the survivor dart along to a new home if somebody wants it. The car originally came from the south, so there is only minor surface rust underneath in a few areas. We all know how important the sub frames are on these unibodies and this car is truly solid. I included a pic of the car as it was when the prior owner bought it. It was green and the interior still is. The last owner took it to a great shop and they went over the entire body. The car has brand new quarter panels and a real sharp, fresh paint job. It’s a slant six 225 with a 904 auto that runs awesome and the next owner can decide the drive line fate as they wish. I see guys running them happily stock, building these 225’s to 300hp, there are a ton of cheap kits out there for small block swaps and some folks are even putting modern V8’s in them. It"s honestly a fun cruiser just as it sits and there is no wrong choice for this particular Dart. The interior is not trashed, but needs some TLC. The trunk is beautiful and the tires/wheels are brand new. The car has a nice, tight suspension & steering, manual drum brakes, everything (wipers, heater, electrical, mechanical, etc.) works well and it"s surprisingly good on gas. All the chrome trim pieces are in good shape and I am impressed by how well this car made it to 2018. I cannot believe how unmolested the car is. Most these A bodies have been hacked-up by now, but this one is a clean sheet. I’ve carefully priced the opening bid to move the car with no games. These A bodies are getting way more expensive, especially in this condition. If anybody has any questions or wants more pics, feel free to message me. Pay pal deposit of $500 upon auction close by the next owner, full payment of bank check, or cash and next owner is responsible to come get it or have it shipped within two weeks. The car is well located 2 hours north of Philly and there is plenty of summer left to be enjoyed with this slick A body. Thanks so much for looking at it and it’s a great time to own a classic car!
Update 7/25/18: I"ve received a few questions and some really great feedback! Interior around my TLC comment- The car"s interior is green as per the original color. If I were to restore the car, I would go with black. This presents work disassembling, painting, replacing some trim and panels with available black pieces. Same would go for the carpet and headliner. The front bench seat is pretty worn from use and the driver sinks low. I would replace the guts of the seat and wrap both front & rear seats with new black covers. While I was at it, I would probably replace key chrome components. Again, this is all up to the next owner and their personal vision for the car and I am just doing my best to share info with prospective owners here. I have had a few folks tell me the car looks really great for the price listed. It absolutely is. I bought this A body for a very fair price and I am passing it along the same way. I"m not looking to get rich off the sale and would rather have a fast/clean sale to somebody who will enjoy the Dart. Overall, I am grateful to everyone for the sincere interest and feedback. This car is a dream car when you consider that it"s 44 years old and in such great condition. It holds unlimited potential in the right hands.
Update: 7/30/18: Ran it once and got some messages after the auction from folks wanting to buy it cheaper. There was a great deal of interest and we were close. I put more skin in the game here now and the bargain just got allot better. Come get your Dart!
