Vehicle description
1974 Datsun 620, 4 speed Pickup. Body Off Resotmod. When I first set eyes on this Datsun Classic, I was sold simply on what I could see from the top side. I did not expect to learn that the body was removed from the frame, so restoration could be done correctly. I can"t see everything, but from what I can see, and from what the previous owner confirmed, a tremendous amount of time and money went into restoring it. It is my understanding, and from what I can tell, all the sheet metal is original. The pictures of the frame, hardware and underside speak for themselves. Most, but not all hardware has been restored or replaced. The paint is not perfect and does have a few very minor imperfections, but it is amazingly rich, and deep with a showroom shine. And it should be since thousands of dollars went into prep and laying down some beautiful BMW coded paint. Of course it is not a perfect truck, as rarely anything is for the price you can get it, but to my unprofessional eye, it is a show stopper. All the hard work has been done, but there are a few incidentals that one may wish to upgrade or complete. Those items being: the bench seat could use some new foam and maybe upholstery. There is one 5” seam on the drivers side where the thread has broke. And because of it"s age, the drivers side has lost its firmness. It does need a new speedo cable and hood latch cable. There are NO cracks and NO splits in the dash and it looks great; but the glove box could use some revitalizing. The engine was refreshed, but not rebuilt. It does burn some oil during cold starts and warm up. And a few fluid drops on the garage floor that I"m sure could be easily addressed. As for the Mods. . .the front power brakes have been converted / upgraded to Wilwood Disc. An aftermarket radiator, new rims, new low profile tires, hoses, wires, and more have been added. The suspension has been lowered, but can be easily returned to natural ride height just by removing a block or two; all making this a thrilling but safer, and friendlier ride. A few extra added mods include a spray in bed liner covering the entire bed and the inside of the tailgate; (only when you open the tailgate is there a bit of primer still visible that did not get body color or liner; easy to mask and finish). High intensity blue dot headlights have been installed, and a white faced gauge cluster. Most everything else is original and matching including the radio. Although I trust its operation and reliability to drive almost anywhere, it is “Sold As Is” without any implied warranty. I have attempted to describe the condition and restoration of this truck to the best of my ability, but I am sure there is something I"m missing.
