1974 Alfa Romeo Spider Restoration started in 2009 and completed in 2016 $18,500 Vin AR3042673 7,274 miles since restoration (New gauge installed and accurate to restoration mileage) Because I prefer to drive my Junior Zagato, I have not put very many miles on the car in the 10+ years I have owned it. In 2006, I had Wes Ingram rebuild the top end. He balanced and installed 10.1:1 pistons and new rings. He also rebuilt the SPICA pump and modified it. The head was redone by Steve Hannifer with 11mm x 10.2 cams as well. The radiator was also completely flushed and serviced. Wes also installed a new Crane XR 2000 electronic ignition system and rebuilt and recurved the distributor 86,137 original chassis miles Restoration completed just last year by Prova Motorsports– Have all paperwork for the restoration Fresh Paint Job 15x7 Panosport Wheels & New Tires 205/55R15s Dunlop Direzzas (still under warranty) Engine Rebuilt and balanced Original 2.0 L4 1570 o Matched Stage 1 head with A16 CAM w/11mmx10.2 cams o Mtronic 10:1 complete Piston liner set ad new SPICA Pump o XR Crane 200 Ignitions system – new wires plugs, injectors, air box filters o Oil pressure is 80lbs cold and 65lbs · Rebuilt Steering box · Radiator complete service, pressure test, flush and fill and installed bypass for heater restrictor and new fan and shroud · All new shocks front suspension front and rear completely rebuilt and new parts installed, Tie rods, Trailing Arm Bushings, thrust washers, trunnions, front and rear sway bar bushings & end links etc. New upper and lower ball joints and complete alignment (have readout from the alignment rack) · New Instrument Cluster Gauges Speedometer and Tach, wiring completely gone thru and all electrical repaired or upgraded ceramic fuses and in working order and a brand-new Battery · New Veglia type Oil pressure sending unit, Speedometer cable, brake cable, · New Heater core, valves gaskets and hoses including all vacuum hoses and water hoses · Exhaust with many new parts and all leaks welded, new muffler and tailpipe · Complete Rebuild on Braking system including new proportioning vlavles, hoses, · All new Interior, Seats recovered, Carpets, Door panels , shifter boot (inner & outer) · New Soft top including all pars fasteners and accessories · Though not installed, I have a new windshield I will include, to replace the existing one which shows some slight signs of delamination. I also have an Auto Power Roll Bar which when installed, still allows the convertible top to be erected in place
