Vehicle description
1973 P1800ES in overall fair condition. Odometer is at 152,786. She’s all original and unmolested with the exception of color change - originally Sun Yellow with (1) amatuer respray in Blue Metallic in the early 90’s prior to my ownership. Clean MN title.
Warehouse where she was stored was sold this week - she hadn’t seen the light of day in (13) years. I know I won’t get to her restoration anytime soon so here she is for sale.
Always garaged so the upper body, trim and interior are preserved. All glass is flawless.
Volvo mechanicals are a no-brainer to refresh - she ran and drove strong when stored with overdrive, hydraulics, fuel injection and electrics all in working order. Exhaust was done just prior to storage. As you can see she has the dealer option air conditioning.
Note: She comes without her radiator and with a damaged hood - Warehouse was compromised last winter - punks took radiators from (6) vehicles for scrap copper. Sad. I think finding a replacement hood would be easier than repairing. Mounting points for radiator and hood are undamaged. They creased the passenger-side fender prying the radiator out but it will be an easy repair.
The underside is pretty crusty. (15) years ago I would have done some quick patches and kept on driving. Now, with values continually rising and metal body parts readily available, she deserves the full treatment. Main frame and trunk areas are solid but she’ll need new inner and outer rockers, floors, floor cross-members and 1/4 bottom repair panels to do it right.
I have a ton of P1800 parts collecting dust that I may consider selling to the winning bidder after the auction including a nice fuel-injected B-20 long block, ES chrome trim, ES glass and lots of good electrical and mechanical parts.
Hoping a fellow enthusiast will pick up the mantle! Please text or call with questions. Pick-up will need to occur before 1/AUG or after 12/AUG.
Thanks for bidding, Steve
