Vehicle description
1973 15 window deluxe brazilian bus 1973 Volkswagen 15 window deluxe bus - made in Brazil
Brazilian split window buses were kept in production until 1975 - it is similar to a German 1967.
Car in very good mechanical condition, the original 1500 engine is still strong and there is no smoke or oil leaks.
Distributor has new cap and cables, oil & screen changed, new valve covers & gasket, single carb 28 revised. Still running the original air filter (oil based).
Gas tank is in good condition with no rust.
Gearbox working well and the gears change with no issues (no need to find the gears. .) so as the steering wheel very tight with no play.
All the dash buttons and details are there, ventilation open and closes, heater not connected (different exhaust) but ducts and system could be reconnected if necessary.
Chromes are ok, it does have all the expensive body trim.
Interior is clean still with the original vinyl seats (3 bench seats and 9 seat belts), charming window curtains all around. Original headliner is still clean and no tears.
Body is straight and there are no apparent rust spots. The only place where there is a small rust hole is right underneath the rear side door - should be an easy patch fix.
Roof rack with brand new wood.
Glasses are in excellent shape and are still the original ones.
The structure underneath the car is sound and there is no rust (also no paint. .)
Front disk brakes, braking straight and suspension is ok.
All the electrics works
The paint is tired, but still looks quite ok.
Very enjoyable to drive, it keeps up with traffic easily and can be driven at 60 mph on highways.
This is a very decent and solid bus for someone that wants a car that does not need any work and can just sit and drive the way it is or an excellent and easy start for a restoration project.
Odometer shows 90700 km and both odometer/speedometer are metric
