Vehicle description

Howdy Shoppers! Up for sale is my (smog exempt) 1973 International Scout II. I bought her a little over 2 years ago when I was still working from home and didn’t require a daily driver. However, that is no longer the case, and it breaks my heart, but I am going to have to sell her.
During the time that I’ve owned her, she has been well cared for and had lots of extra TLC. I bought her a top, a custom-fitted California Car Cover, and a new Sony stereo head unit. Also had the carb cleaned up, reworked the wiring, replaced the water pump, repacked the wheel bearings, completed a full tune-up, installed a new master cylinder, replaced the dash gauges, installed new spark plugs, etc. All of the mechanical work was done at Gearhead Garage and California Muscle Cars, both located in Sacramento — the majority having been done just this past February before being driven down to Long Beach.
To the best of my knowledge, her only issues are:
- the horn was disconnected. A couple of parts for it did come in the glovebox when I bought her, but it may require more to be functional.
- the lock that holds the the hatch closed on the top went from finicky to inoperative. I am currently using a bungee cord to keep the hatch from flying up.
- the stereo head unit is no longer getting power. I haven’t had the chance to investigate, however given that the stereo is less than a year old, I’m assuming it’s just a matter of a loose wire or bad fuse.
- the dash does have a couple of cracks in it which is to be expected in a vehicle this age.
Some changes that were made by the previous owner are:
- the front driver and passenger seats were replaced with seats out a Dodge that have modern 3-point seatbelts — but the back is the original Scout II bench with lap-belts.
- the original rear bumper was replaced with a custom made tube-style bumper that is Rhino sprayed.
- her paint job was done by the guy that I bought her from in his own garage so it’s not perfect, but looks pretty darn good.
- a new carpet kit, which matches the seat color, was installed just before I bought her.
This truck is a blast to cruise around in, especially with the top off, and not once have I taken her for a drive without getting at least one thumbs-up. She’s the perfect vehicle for beach trips, drive-in movie nights or just a jaunt over to the store. Asking $22,000 o.b.o.
I can provide receipts for all of the work that has been done and will do my best to answer any questions that you may have. Thanks for looking!
