Vehicle description

Everyone looks. Literally every single person. Paint on this "73 Scout II is original Glacier Blue with white top and trim in excellent condition. The body is straight and clean except for some small rust spots in the usually Scout areas. I"ve tried to keep things nearly stock as I"ve owned this truck for 8 years. It"s been a slow process but every year or as needed things are rebuilt or replaced with new or upgraded parts. The first thing I did since the original wheels and classic caps (included) all had rotten rubber was go to the tire shop and replace with polished aluminum wheels and the largest tires that would fit pre-lift; 31" Cooper Discover all terrain tires. The 2.5" lift kit was done this year. This truck is 2WD automatic transmission; not an off-road bomber. I"ma leg amputee so I"m thrilled its an automatic. The fact that its 2WD just means you know it hasn"t been jumped off any dunes or smashed on a rock climb. I live in a small town and drive it 5 miles here or there or down to the beach or catch a sunset. I took it to get a tune up and that"s when I had the professor of the local maintenance technician school pull the engine and start the rebuild process. Everything removed and sent off to have blasted down to bare metal. All new rods, pistons, seals, etc. Wish I still had the photos but that phone has been toast for a while. It"s only driven about 7,500 miles since complete rebuild. Same with the rebuilt transmission. Holy carburetor delivers the fuel to the inline 6 cylinders. The original drum brakes are strong but upgrading to disc brakes would probably be my next project. The first time I topped it up with fuel the old metal tank leaked like a sieve; replaced with 20-gallon polycarbonate tank. Battery is new and high cranking amps. Lights all work as do blinkers. Newer bluetooth radio and 4 custom waterproof speakers in case you get caught in the rain with the top off. Rear Dana 44 is rebuilt, lubricated and all new seals.Th ruff Country Shocks are new along with the 2.5" lift. The A/C blows the coldest air you can imagine. Even the windshield squirts work. Diving this with the top removed is the greatest pleasure. I"ve enjoyed this truck tremendously but its time to pass it along to some one who will care for it. I"m into this truck for over $20K and I"m willing to let her go at good value at $18,990. Located in Rincon, PR. Truck can be shipped to the mainland for around $1K. I"ll do everything on my end to make that happen. Good luck with your offers
