Vehicle description

Up for auction is 73 Datsun 240Z. I bought this car a few years ago for parts, but it was in such good shape I decided to restore it to drive. This is not a show car rather it is a mostly original, good driving car with a strong engine, and good 4 speed manual transmission. The engine is not the original but I had it rebuilt a number of years ago and has approximately 60k miles on the rebuild. The body had rust in the usual places except for the rocker panels which are original. The floorpans and rails were replaced with strong metal and riveted in place, and covered with Roadkill sound deadener. Other rust areas were cut and fixed with steel and a minimum of filler. The paint is high quality Nason Full Thane 2K Urethane single stage in the original 115 blue metallic and shines nicely but has a number of imperfections. The underbody was covered with rust inhibitor paint.
The bumpers are original 240Z but the front bumper was re-positioned closer to the body. The interior is mostly original in fair shape. The dash has the usual cracks. The radio works but the speakers are poor. The antenna is not electric rather manual and I’m not sure it works. The rest of the electrical system works OK, it needs a few light bulbs replaced. It did not come with a glove box and I haven’t found one yet. The headliner is not in great shape, will need to be redone. The clock as usual does not work. The windshield and rear hatch glass are good with no chips, the rear hatch seal was replaced. The doors open and close nicely and the door glass is good. The driver side door lock works. The mileage in the odometer is accurate but has flipped at least once. Here is a list of mechanical parts replaced / serviced: Master brake cylinder, rear shoes, brakes are good Rear struts were upgraded from a 280Z, which have better brakes, springs were adjusted to level the car, new KYB Gas shocks Excel-G Front frame and sway bar mount strengthened New tires 205 60-14 on aftermarket chrome wheels
Battery is one year old Fuel pump replaced, fuel line upgraded to single pass, center fuel pickup in the tank for excellent fuel delivery Replaced the exhaust system with a 280Z square port manifold and 2” pipe SU type Carbs much better than flat top originals with new needles and therapy adjustment Rebuilt original distributor with original ignition system New rear seal in transmission All in all a very solid car that runs, shifts and stops very nicely. This is a car to enjoy and drive. It still has a number of details to look after mostly in the interior, I have tried to list all the things I know about it. This car is used and sold as is. I have clear tittle to the car. For serious inquiries only call me at 860 983 0322. The car is in Middletown Connecticut and must be paid and picked up within 7 days of auction end. No shipping. I have it listed locally and reserve the right to end the auction early.
