Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 1972 Datsun 240Z is an original with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle needs work and is not regularly driven. Seller"s Notes Can add in other 240z parts i have in the garage: a set of seats, odometers, speedometers, headlight housing units, decals, ebay intercooler that i was going to install, etc. If car crabbing and cylinder 6 compression is fixed, its a speed demon. Should add intercooler, but will push 250hp while being such a light car Vehicle Details Project car! 240z with L28et engine swap from 280zx, keeping it tasteful. Midnight/flag blue. More than $7000 into the car after engine swap. Has been stored inside for 8 years and not driven/started. Selling since im moving and will no longer have a place to store this car or time to finish. I just flushed the system to get it started and checked through all problems(listed). Project car! there are things to still work on, and problems due to long storage. Only purchase if you will work on them or part out. Clean title, have car on Non-OP due to storage. No outstanding fees. Positives- -90 head and aftermarket T-04 turbo -Tial 38mm wastegate and BOV set to 13psi, i never went over 5psi since i didnt install intercooler. had to store car before finishing project for college and gradschool. Now moving for work and wont have time to finish the project. -afternarket racing suspension -Momo steering wheel -massive racing straight pipe -$1500 SDS engine management system that is crank triggered and it is using a special Pallnet hall sensor mount. You can control timing, fuel ratio, etc with a handheld device (pictured) - custom billet fuel rail 460c. DSM blue top injectors -boost PSI and oil pressure side guages -5speed manual transmission (diff and transmission from 280zx) - engine kill switch, elecrticity and fan switch - detachable cd player/mp3 - Griffin radiator - classic chrome bumpers (abeit dirty) - new battery, oil filter, and fuel filter, just changed oil and drained added new fuel. -bled brakes, fixed some undercarriage surface rust. Negatives- -clyinder 6 has low compression, could be headgasket or a faulty valve seal (i will throw in a unopenned stock headgasket from nissan. I also have other 240z components to potentially give away since im moving. ) - vehicle crabs to the right: identified- rear driverside wheel turned in a couple degrees. I think its a suspension problem. -The rails from the front of the shock towers were changed out from a later 280z, welded by autoshop. Accident and repair was from previous owner years ago. -terrible paint job that needs to be sanded and redone. - sticky gas pedal. Should replace the spring the pedal rests on, or clean the link to and the throttle body. -side part a baseball dent (where Z is painted) that was bondoed over instead of just punched out. -car locks but only passenger side unlocks. Driverside lock button comes up half way. Need to fix the mechanism probably hust needs lub, an hr job. -rust (1971 car), lots of surface rust, undercarriage surface rust, rust outside drum break, some bad rust(pictured) mostly one hole in driver side, and the tail of the hatchdoor. Rust holes also on the back hatchdoor that had been ducktaped while in storage (picture). Probably should just get a new backhatch door ($100-300). Interior is in good condition from rust. Only exterior along with some undercarriage dried sludge. Alot of cleaning to do. - small dents in the front with surface rust, custom shark fin airvents need to be reglued and painted over on the hood (picture). Exterior Konig rims, lock fuel and rims, sharkfin air vents, showing the major rust areas Interior Momo steering wheel, boost gauge, SDS system, killswitch, etc Engine 1983 L28et t4 turbo, SDS system, custom fuel rail, etc Download the Motors app
