Vehicle description
VIN shows this is an original V8 Vehicle
4 wheel drive 1/2 ton Blazer 1972 Built in Flint
Available for auction is a 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer 4x4, 396 V8 motor with 4 speed Manual Transmission. Power steering with Power Front Disc Brakes Rear drum brakes Warn locking front hubs, Dana 44 front axle with NP205 transfer case and 12 Bolt rear end. Edelbrock Performer 2.0 aluminum intake manifold with 4 Barrel Edelbrock 1407 Carburetor, headers and dual exhaust mufflers. This is a running and driving project that needs to be gone through mechanically before considering it road worthy (brakes, fuel tank and fuel lines, etc). Currently it runs off an external fuel tank hooked to the mechanical fuel pump and idles nicely considering it’s been sitting for the past 5 years. It does sound like there is an exhaust leak somewhere in the system. But as mentioned earlier it needs to be gone through.
I purchased the vehicle as you see it, in gray primer. It has minimal rust in the drivers side floor pan with no extension into the kick panel. I removed the cowl and it is in great shape, no rust. Both front A posts are solid and rust free. Battery tray area is solid and rust free with both fenders appearing to be original. On the passenger side rocker panel there are very few rust holes but the metal is structurally solid (see pictures and video). The rear passenger quarter will need some work as the previous owner drilled holes to mount a spare tire holder. Frame is solid and cargo area near rear bench seat is also rust free. The undercarriage looks great and would be the perfect candidate for restoration.
Passenger side door appears original to the Blazer. Roll bar, front bench seat and rear bench seat included. All exterior lights and dash lights work properly. The previous owner had installed carpet throughout the cab, some carpet adhesive residue remains. Previous owner also added aftermarket wood grain to gauge cluster, glove box door ash tray and around radio.
All glass is intact with no cracks. Windows roll up and down smoothly. Blinkers, brakes, headlights, interior dash lights and radio lights are in working order
Rear lift gate/hatch could use replacement. It appears to be de-laminating or separating and has been repaired at some point, but was not done professionally.
I’ve described the Blazer to the best of my ability, inspections in person are suggested and encouraged. Please view pictures and video link:
