1971 VW Volkswagen Deluxe Bus w/ matching 1958 Scad-a-Bout Teardrop trailer! New engine. No Reserve! “Yellow Submarine”
You are looking at one of the coolest vintage rides for sale. Lots of love put into this “Yellow Submarine”. You will not find many nicer original campers out there. Everyone loves this bus and trailer. Both come with clean CA titles. Please message me for a link to additional pictures if desired.
1971 VW non-walk through deluxe bus. This bus has spent most of its life in Northern California and shows mostly original paint and natural patina. Paint still shines up really nice as seen in the pictures. There are some bumps and bruises as to be expected for a mostly original 49 year old bus. Mostly rust free but has a few spots here and there but one of the drier buses out there considering.
Mechanical- 1600 dual port was just professionally rebuilt from a local vw shop. Engine was completely taken apart and rebuilt (top and bottom end). Looks and runs great with lots of new parts. 10 miles since it was rebuilt last month. You will not be disappointed. This looks like a brand new engine and will last a long time. Transmission shifts nicely with no issues. Clutch was just adjusted. Brakes work like they should and just got new shoes and were adjusted. Tires are in good condition. All electrical works.
Interior- The interior is very nice for its age. Headliner is near perfect. Non walk through. Seats are all in great condition minus a small rip in the driver seat. All brand new wood door panels. New custom “Yellow Submarine” curtains, new hardwood floor for center and rear section, new rubber front pedestal area, new Bluetooth stereo with speakers including matching 6x9’s in the rear, custom matching ice chest. Overall the interior is very nice and gets compliments everywhere it goes.
Exterior- Very straight and 95% rust free and 90% original paint. There is a few small rust spots but very little rust overall. There is a small hole at the rear passenger fender, a little bit of rust above the engine hatch, and some other small surface spots. Underside is really dry. Bus is all original paint minus the front passenger side of the nose where it had previously been repaired and paint matched but you can tell a small difference in the photos. The passenger rear has also been painted many years ago after some body work. Overall though, the bus is solid and looks great and not filled with bondo. Deluxe trim is complete but has a dent in the rear passenger corner as seen in the pictures. OG paint buffs out really nicely and shines up beautifully. Comes with a nice wood slat roof rack. Nicely painted bumpers and rims.
Trailer- 1958 Scad-a-Bout teardrop trailer. This trailer is very original and is in great condition. It is probably one of the nicest original trailers around. Super solid and tows nicely. Just welded and secured underneath. All the wood is pretty good considering but does show its age. Polished and painted to match the bus and shows some blemishes as to be expected. This trailer is the perfect compliment to a great bus. Has rear kitchen with sink and vintage Coleman stoves, lantern, etc. Sleeping quarters are super comfy with memory foam pad, led lights, etc. Has awesome vintage suitcase up front that stores the battery w/ solar charger that gives power to the interior lights, and inverter for phone charger / Bluetooth speakers. Comes with a matching vintage wood slat roof rack, matching table and chairs, rug, vintage suitcase set, and all the other goodies. Brand new locks with keys. All electrical works. Very lightweight. Comes with a clean CA title.
