About this vehicle This 1971 Volkswagen Beetle (Pre-1980) is an original. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle is drivable and is mainly used for weekend drives. Seller"s Notes Please don’t buy this vehicle unless you will commit to fixing and loving her up Exterior 1971 Volkswagen Beetle in excellent condition for its age. Still after 49 years, she’s mostly original, the only things that have been replaced is the engine (probably several times and the odometer has probably turned over as well), and the stereo. Seats are in good condition, a few tears in the backseat. The biggest issue is rust spots on the body but they haven’t rusted through, they have been treated but would need to be fixed at some point. This is a restorable VW just waiting for some love. I am only the second owner and she has been babied. The original owner kept her in mechanically perfect condition (he was a mechanic), and garaged so the body is in good shape. The body has been repainted with the original baby blue color, in my opinion the paint job is lacking, uneven in places. please see all pics which show areas of rust, wear on seats, running boards warped a bit, paint overspray, and rubber at windows needs replaced. This model has a the flat windshield, very desirable among VW enthusiasts. There are no issues with the windshield, no cracks or stars. 1600 cc engine, 4 speed manual. She runs great! I never hesitate to take her out and about town, and I always get compliments because she is a sweet little head turner. I love this car but don’t have the time to put into restoring her.
