Vehicle description

This is a BEAUTIFUL 1971 Dodge Demon painted in it"s original color of GY3 Citron Yella and sporting its original numbers matching 340 and correct interior.
This Demon was pictured on the cover of High Performance Mopar and had a multi-page feature article in the magazine. According to a previous owner when he purchased the car out of California, this Demon had 101,000 miles - but due to it being a highly-optioned car and having a pristine body (zero rust) a complete restoration was completed. The numbers-matching engine was hot tanked, magnafluxed and bored .030 over and the steel crank was turned .010. The heads were ported, polished and completely refreshed. The car"s parts were disassembled and cleaned, refurbished or replaced with reproduction or N.O.S. parts. The stainless trim was replaced or polished as necessary and the seats were recovered. After the restoration was completed this Demon has consistently taken home show trophies, including a number of 1st place awards. It continues to be a crowd pleaser and consistently takes home trophies and best-in-show awards to this day.
An added bragging point is this SPECIFIC DEMON was the inspiration for one of the 1/64th scale Johnny Lightning High Performance series cars. This exact Demon is pictured on the background card which appeared on a number of their different series cards.
Come on, NOW THAT"S COOL !
Not only was this Demon a Mopar Magazine"s cover and featured article car, but it is the basis of a Johnny Lightning die-cast collectible and is pictured right on the card!
Take a close look at the fender tag and the rare original options including: Citron Yella High Impact Paint (GY3) Automatic Transmission (D32) Bucket Seats (C55) OS Dual Painted Mirrors (G36) Hood Tie Down Pins (J45) Rear Wing Spoiler (J81) Fender Mounted Turn Signals (L31) Dual Exhaust N41) Chrome Exhaust Tips (N42) Additionally, it has the ULTRA RARE. . Floor Mounted Cassette player with microphone (R26) - According to the information I could find, only 40 Demon 340s came with this option! ( The stock cassette originally came with just an AM radio - the car now has an AM/FM radio so the cassette player is not hooked up.) One last EXTRA RARE item to point out: The emissions control parts (N95) are still on the car - Now that"s WILD - everyone remembers that emissions parts were one of the very first parts almost everyone back in the day took off and tossed out!
This Demon runs fantastic and shifts perfectly (I believe it has a shift kit in the transmission). It also has a Sure-Grip Rear Differential, (non-power) Disc Brakes , Power Steering , AM/FM Radio , Tuff-Style Steering Wheel (with the correct style horn button). Rallye Wheels , GoodYear Polyglas Tires , and the Rallye Dash. The speedometer, gauges, lights, tach (thought not all that accurate) turn signals and its cancel feature, all work. The ammeter has been replaced with a much, much safer voltmeter gauge and was installed in the ammeter location for originality purposes. As the VIN indicates this car was built at the Los Angeles plant and typical for that specific plant, no broadcast sheet was present.
This Demon is ready for any inspection (highly-encouraged) and speaking from experience, it is a great joy to own and attracts a lot of positive attention.
Of course, the mileage will increase slightly because I still will drive it periodically to keep everything fresh. Due to its age the mileage is believed to be accurate but is not guaranteed.
I"m not just some guy that bought a Demon to race or abuse. I"ve earned a 100% feedback rating and over the years I"ve owned and sold many Mopars including a 71 "Cuda convertible, a 69 1/2 6-Pack Super Bee, a 67 Barracuda Formula S convertible, a 2010 Furious Fuchsia SRT Challenger, a 66 Coronet, and in the last few weeks a 2003 Dodge Viper to name a few of them. Check out my feedback, I believe I know how to maintain collectible cars and treat them with the care they need and I really value them for what they are. Now be advised, this Demon is certainly not perfect. After all, it is almost 50 years old, but it sure is sweeter than most. .
I am only selling the Demon because I"m in the market for another special 60s or early 70s Mopar and I"d need to make room for another car. Low-ball offers, people with no funds, or other non-sense will not be considered. Of course, the car is sold as-is.
So please - interested buyers only. Thanks!
