For sale is a 1971 BMW 2002. Mostly all original and garage kept. Starts right up and drives down the road nicely. Body and frame are in great shape with no significant rust, dents, or problem areas. Not a show car by any means, but a nice weekend cruiser. Mechanically, the car runs well. Brand new weber carburetor, new water pump, two new rear tires, and new battery installed March 2021. Just had the oil changed, coolant flushed, and filters changed as well. New exhaust installed May 2018 – beautiful sound. The 2.0 inline four runs nicely with no smoking or strange noises. All the lights/gauges/instruments work perfectly except for the speedometer and horn. Aesthetically, the car is a nice 10-footer, but shows some faults on close inspection. Paint is not original and has a few blemishes/scratches/imprints here and there (see photos). Minor bubbling here and there but nothing major (see photos). The interior is in ok shape – original upholstery has a few splits (see photos)and a few panels/seems throughout need some attention (see photos). Panels, headliner, carpet are all decent and presentable. Dash is in nice shape as well with the exception of some cracks on driver"s side. All the glass is in nice shape with no cracks or defects. Next owner might want to replace some of the weather stripping around the windows. The ’02 likes to pull to the right a tad. Not terribly but could use an alignment. From time to time, shifting into first is a bit of chore. Might be a simple adjustment or synchro issue. The car is sold with a ton of extra goodies – luggage rack, original vintage floormats, extra carb, rubber bumper mounts, books, decals, etc. Would love to keep the car, but I don’t have space in the garage and would hate to see this ’02 sit outside. Clean and clear Virginia title in hand. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. $1000 deposit due within 24 hours, with full payment due in 72 hours. I would prefer bank payment (zelle, wire, etc) but accept cash and cashier’s check payment as well. Shipping is buyer"s responsibility, but more than happy to coordinate with shipping company.
