Up for your consideration: 1970 Lotus Europa.I"m the second owner. I"ve owned it 40 years. I"ve acquired a small fortune in small parts along the way. Everything works except the speedometer. Very very quick, set up for rally racing, but can be changed for slalom course easily. Over time, I"ve replaced failed original parts with generic, easily-obtained parts (GM one-wire alternator, Weber carburetor, Race Mechanical advance-only distributor, Mercedes-Benz radiator blower motor, adjustable rear trailing arm lengths, reduction-gear starter motor, etc). Dash wiring is on an umbilical cord, so dash can be removed and worked on easily. The only crappy parts are the door latches, and the shift linkage, which while functional are worn out.Spare parts include: new throttle and clutch cables, brake-master cylinder, radiator, gaskets, tune-up parts, and many used parts including a spare very high compression Renault/Lotus motor. All the original parts that I"ve removed over the course of time have been saved.I"m selling this car because at 62 years of age, it"s getting too difficult for me to get in and out of it.Upon full payment, I can ship anywhere in the lower 48 for $1 a mile one way (from south-central Nebraska), or you can pick it up yourself. The car can be stored here as long as necessary.
