Vehicle description
1970 International Scout 800A 304 v8 with the Automatic Borg Warner Transmission. Documented Gold SR2 Edition 1 of 500! Beautiful scout finished in its original Burnished Gold paint, base/clear. Everyone that sees this scout comments on the color being perfect for this truck. Doll up package, oem chrome rallye rims- very hard to find. Color really looks great in the sun! Many of its originality has been preserved: original sheet metal, floors, engine and transmission, interior components, sliding windows in the hard top, rare front floor mat. Original Las Vegas dry desert Scout, solid as they come. 31x10.50 BFG’s with lots of tread, runs smooth and quiet with nice dual exhaust. Removable hard top for fantastic summer cruising, one of the best looking convertible trucks ever built. Heater works, speedometer works, temp gauge, and ampmeter seem to be accurate, and the oil pressure also, but the gas gauge hasn’t worked lately so I just add a couple gallons whenever I drive it. The vin/serial plate, frame stamp, door jam decal, and passenger floor line set ticket are all in their factory locations and in tact, numbers matching. Sold as is, almost 50 years old so it won’t drive like a new car. Buyers should know this truck has sat most of the last ten years in dry storage. It starts right up and it will drive around town. In the last couple weeks it’s been driven upwards of 70 mph and feels pretty good but before going on any longer trips it would be best to double check and change fluids and adjust the factory drum brakes. I’ve been too busy to devote the time this scout deserves. Cosmetically it could use a repaint on the hard top, but if you’re like me you’ll remove it and never put it back on. I reserve the right to end the auction early, for sale locally. Call or text and ask for pictures and videos, search YouTube “1970 Sr2 burnished gold” there are a few videos posted. If you’ve seen this on before that’s because I’ve had some bad luck finding a buyer to follow thru. Please only bid if you have the funds and if you need permission from a significant other that is important too.
