Excellent condition Datsun 1970 510 two door. Purchased from original owner family in Bakersfield area of California in 2010. Rebuilt original motor using 1.8 NOS crank and pistons. NOS head professionally machined for 240z valves and assembled with many NOS components (cam, rocker pads, Springs). Datsun 2000 5-speed rebuilt and mated with early Z bell housing. Suspension and front brakes from 1981 200sx. New rear brake cylinders. New steering idler. New tie rod ends. New sway bushings. Custom drive shaft. Engine bay, floor pans and spare tire well cleaned of surface oxidation treated and painted or touched up. No rust perforations. Underside of the car was meticulously cleaned of road grime. Wheel wells cleaned and touched up. Body paint is thin in places and there are several door dings on the passenger side. Driver side and hood are pretty straight. Glass looks good except for one small chip in the windshield. New windshield and window gaskets go with car, including window and door and trunk gaskets, felts, and squeegees. Interior features a crack free dashpad and factory tachometer. All gauges work including VDO oil pressure and voltage, but the right turn signal is not working and AM radio only picks up one station. Headliner needs to be replaced and a new one is provided. Door cards are okay but new ones are provided. Front and rear seats are reupholstered. The Ignition, trunk and gas door use same key. Doors use older key but new locks that match ignition key go with car, so once complete one key does it all (2 copies provided). This has been a car I worked on, off and on, for nine years and never quite finished but had collected most of the parts to do so. It drives shifts and stops very well but I’d personally like a smoother slower idle. I think it runs a bit lean from the Hitachi DCH 340 two barrel carb I installed as that was stock on 1.8 liter Datsun. Anyway, time’s up for my ownership due to major life change and so someone will get a great mostly original clean dry 510 with a bunch of new parts either installed and parts/items that go with the car.
