Vehicle Details This is for a very neat 02. I purchased this 2002 from the son in law of the original owner that had owned it all of his life. He was a WW2 veteran that served in Europe. When he came back after the war he started a printing company and enjoyed driving his German cars. He traded in a Porsche in 1969 and bought this 2002 and drove it and loved it. I have all of his registration cards from 1969 on. I found this car on a forum and once I purchased it I decided to have it repainted and to fix the small rust areas that existed behind the bumpers, bottom of the doors, etc. I then had the Polizei green wrap installed and the Bavarian polizei decals made to match the livery of the 02 Polizei cars in the late 60s early 70s. There is a Euro siren horn that works as a PA, too. The blue light is a magnet light that works off of a key fob. I do not run it when driving over 25 miles an hour as I do not want to lose it. I installed a pair of blue cloth Recaro seats as well. This 02 has some very nice early grills, euro front signals, and the rear bumper has the nice seam covers and euro plate lights. New COCO mats in the front as well.Mechanically, the only thing I have had to do is replace the electric fuel pump. The engine runs strong but could use some normal maintenance like motor mounts and/or a refresh. The 4 speed gearbox works fine, just a noisy throw out bearing and the shift bushings are not "new like" tight. I had the original wheels powder coated the correct silver with some newer nicer OE hubcaps and new 185/70R13 tires. The A/C system exists but is not currently functioning. With some time and effort it could get going again.This is a fun car that gets so much attention. I really hope that someone would keep the livery on this car as it is what people appreciate the most. Overall I can drive this car wherever I want and it always gets me there.
