Vehicle description
Vehicle Details We are continuing to downsize our car collection and have decided to sell our 1968 Dodge Dart that we keep at our home in Florida. We have owned the car for approximately 15 years and it has always provided trouble-free and fun occasional transportation when we visit our vacation home twice a year. Originally from Mississippi, we bought the car from the grandson of the original owner. She stopped driving after she backed into another car causing a dent in the right rear of the car see pictures. The car was bequeathed to the son and it sat for many years. Eventually it was given to the grandson and we bought the car at that point. The trim is the upper level 270 and has the seldom seen and functional factory air conditioning, power steering, and the 225 slant-six cylinder engine with the 904 automatic transmission. The upper trim level also included vinyl with cloth inserts. The interior is in very good condition. When we got the car I had a custom seat cover done by a local upholsterer to go over the front seat to protect it from wear. Underneath this, the original seat trim vinyl and cloth are in good shape. The back seat also has a store purchased seat cover for protection. The car has always been parked inside a covered and enclosed carport. The car has approximately 57,000 original miles on it and has had quite a lot of preventative maintenance work done on it in the past 2000 miles, including complete front end suspension rebuild and rebush. Bushings, ball joints, inner and outer tie rod ends, new steering sector, new power steering pump and hoses, new shocks, new brakes, including new hardware, replacement wheel cylinders and brake hoses. The car subsequently went in for front end alignment. In addition the fuel pump and waterpump were replaced and the transmission was serviced with filter. We have always changed oil either once a year or 2k miles. When we first got the car, I put in a new four core radiator and a new fuel tank and sending unit. We have put approximately 26K miles on the car over the years and have gone back and forth about whether we should sell it or not. In recent years we have found ourselves driving it less and less as we now keep a minivan at the Florida residence. Of note, even when left for months at a time, the car always starts reliably and goes about business as usual without any fuss. No smoke, rattles or noise. We have driven it back and forth to Minnesota twice during spring months, without issues. This will make someone who is looking for a simple, reliable and easy to maintain a good hobby car. Please contact us via messenger if you have any questions. If you are bidding on the car and have little feedback or purchases, please contact us so that we know you are a serious bidder. We have had a bad selling experience before and just want to establish rapport if you have little experience. Thanks you. Images Download the Motors app
