A message to all of the scammers who have zero feedback and contact me the day that they open their account. You are all being reported. Furthermore, any bank wire transfers for final payment, if that is how you intend to pay for it, will be your banker talking to my banker. You WILL NOT be provided with my banking info. If you are a legitimate person with zero feedback and interested in this vehicle call the listed number and be aware that any wire transfer will be banker to banker.
This 1985 S10 Blazer is a southern "survivor" vehicle that still wears 100% of its original paint (minus induction hood and cowl), as well as all of its trim and interior. It should be noted that the interior has several Billet polished aluminum dress upgrades that you will see in the photos. Please watch the videos for the best photographic presentation of interior/exterior condition. This vehicle is very possibly original low mileage which I can only deduce from the minimal wear on original cosmetic items, zero door sag, zero slop in the steering box, condition of the paint, etc. This low mileage assessment is also confirmed by the Auto Check service here on Ebay. There is very minor damage to the driver"s side rear quarter but no other damage/dents elsewhere. This vehicle is very straight and all reveals are excellent. Additionally, there is no rust or rust repair and if you would like photos of the bottom tell me where you want photographed either by text/phone Facetime/or Ebay messages and I will accommodate your interest. Call (817) 403-7723. You may also come inspect or test drive or hire someone to do so on your behalf.
I purchased this vehicle with the intention of resolving, and re-selling, what the owner, at a distance, described as a knocking sound. When the vehicle arrived I discovered that it had thrown a rod through the oil pan. I knew that I was going to have to rebuild the motor even with just a "knock" but didn"t expect to have to replace so many parts. The 350 is an 88 to 95 casting number 638 block. The rod only damaged the oil pan and the block was fine. The previous owner played the "I don"t know" game with me to sell the engine knock story so I have no information from the person who built it, the owner prior to him, except what we discovered as we took it apart. He spent a lot of money. It began with an Edelbrock/Weber fuel injection system, Edelbrock performance aluminum heads which are ported and polished, roller rockers, ARP studs, an Edelbrock 2102 cam, 2244p flat top forged pistons, a Melling high volume oil pump, an external vacuum canister, a built 700r4 transmission with a deep, ribbed cast aluminum pan and external oil cooler, dual electric fans, a chrome power steering pump, a chrome alternator, a chrome AC compressor, braided lines, ribbed aluminum Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, etc. The good news? Neither you nor I had to pay for it.
No corners were cut in the rebuild of this engine. Three pistons were replaced, two rods, new rings, new crankshaft, new cam, new lifters, new rod bearings, new crank bearings, new Melling oil pump, all valves were lapped, all cylinders were honed, all new gaskets, and right now it sits with about five to ten miles on it and still has the zinc additive for break in which needs to be drained with the new oil in 500 miles. It hasn"t been dyno-ed but I suspect that it puts out around 350 horse power and in a 3,000 lb. S10 it becomes a BEAST. In 4 low it feels like it could climb a wall. It has a lot of low end torque which is what that cam is designed for. In the test drive video I get on it from a rolling start and it smokes the tires quite easily. I should add that everything was rebuilt just as it had been minus whatever went wrong to throw the rod on #7 cylinder. It was clear from taking it apart that there were very few miles on the build when it failed and we suspect that the rod bearing failed for some unknown reason. Before the engine was re-installed the frame and cradle were painted and all aluminum lines/fittings were cleaned up and polished.
The transmission is a 700r4 and I don"t have information on the build but I have owned several vehicles with this transmission and this one has clearly been upgraded. It shifts very firmly. I also observed that there aren"t any leaks or seepage and the case is very clean as it would look after being rebuilt and the case dipped. They also installed a ribbed, cast aluminum pan that looks very new. We took off the front wheels to access exhaust bolts (through the wheel well), when removing the engine and the rotors and pads are in like new condition and it brakes, stops, and steers very much like a new vehicle. There are no clunks or strange noises and the tranny fluid is bright red.
The interior is in fantastic condition for original. The headliner is perfect with no sags or tears. The seat covers are in very good condition minus some small pin holes in the fabric on both front seats. The back seat is flawless and all door panels are in excellent condition minus some fading on the top of the two front doors (easily dyed). There are no cracks or tears anywhere on the panel and the weather strip is supple. The rubber seal on the outside of both doors does have dry cracking but all of this stuff is readily available at LMC or Brother"s Trucks and very inexpensive. There are no chips or stars in the windshield, the side glass is excellent, and there isn"t any evidence of leaking around the pop up moon roof window. All of the polished aluminum on the dash, roof and doors is aftermarket and looks pretty sharp. This is no longer grandpa"s Blazer.
All of the gauges work minus the factory tachometer. I haven"t even looked to see what the problem is. The windshield wipers work, the horn works, the power windows work, the power door locks work, the dome light works, the electric rear window popper works, the keys open the driver side door and the rear hatch but won"t work the passenger door. The dash lights work, the blinker indicators and hazard indicators work, the speedometer works, all four wheel/two wheel drive functions work, and I haven"t tested the cruise control because it isn"t insured or registered. I do know that it is all there and hooked up. All of the external blinker, brake and headlights work. The AC and heat work and the fan motor blows on all three speeds. There is an aftermarket Pioneer stereo/CD player with a remote and it works and sounds substantially better than a stock unit so I suspect that there are aftermarket speakers as well.
