Austin Healey 3000 Kit Car - Sebring MX. Titled as 1989 Custom, the car comes with a clear NC title.
We are selling for the estate of a very close friend. We know the original builder of the car, and know its history from build until now. This was built with some of the better options from the catalog, including the seats and leather trim. Fiberglass body and steel frame. Mustang 2 suspension with 3.08 posi rear end. Small Block Chevy bored over to 355 with a custom built Holley 750 Carb and custom Cam.
Car does have some flaws. Gel coat needs to be polished. There is noticeable fade to the horizontal surfaces from age. Front lower middle, has a patch of discoloartion. Car was in storage for a number of years. Valve cover gaskets are leaking as well as a very minor one on the front seal. Trans shifts well and holds all gears. Car tracks straight when driving. Tires are older BFGs. Battery is tucked behind the passenger rear wheel with an access panel, and trickle charger port in the trunk. Panel gaps are even and no evidence is present of any accidents to the shell or frame. The front bumper is missing. We do have spares, but they are original Healey parts and do not fit the flared fenders well.
Interior has some wear to the finish from age, but is intact. Seats are comfortable with no rips or tears. Soft top does have a cut on the rear passenger side, about 3" long. Tonneau cover is included.
Needs brake master cylinder. one installed is original to the build. Pedal is very low to the floor when the brakes engage. They do work, but the car will need to be transported for the repair to be safe.
In all its a great looking roadster with more then enough power to catch you off guard. Little bit of work, and it will be all the talk at your local cars and coffee meets.
