Vehicle description
This British Racing Green 1996 Austin-Healey 3000 is a British sports that was car built from 1959 to 1967 and this one has low miles. It is the best known of the "big Healey" models. The car"s bodywork was made by Jensen Motors and the vehicles were assembled at BMC"s MG Works in Abingdon, alongside the corporation"s MG models. During its production life, the car transitioned from an open sports car, albeit with a child-transporting 2+2 option, to a sports convertible. In 1963, 91.5 per cent of all Austin-Healey 3000 cars were exported; mostly to North America. The 3-litre 3000 was a highly successful car, which won its class in many European rallies in its heyday and is still raced in classic car competitions by enthusiasts today. British Leyland ended manufacture in 1967, intending its place to be filled by a car with a new, though similar, engine in a more recently designed monocoque MGB variant named MGC. wikipedia.com
This "frogeye" is a perfect example of the way a 1966 Austin Healey should be restored. There were 2 1/2 years spent disassembling every nut and bolt on this car, all the way down to the frame which was stripped, reconstructed and coated inside and out to factory specifications. All fenders, rockers, both doors and door jams were replaced with new factory replacements. The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt with all new parts including 2 new carborators and also electric overdrive. Over 100 pictures are available showing the restoration and will be provided upon request. Any questions about the car you may call 804-928-5000, ask for Donnie.
