Vehicle description
1966 Austin Healey 3000 BJ8 - No Reserve Project Car
This is a nicely restored car that sustained rear fender damage when I accidentally ran one of my cars into the rear fender at very slow speed. . . it will require body work and paint to repair the damage
This will be a great project for someone with restoration skills
It has been sitting for a few years in its current condition, so I took it to a mechanic and had the following work completed. It will need other mechanical and electrical work performed on the car to make it fully operational. My goal was to get the car running.
Recent Work Completed on 1966 Austin Healey 1. Replaced battery. 2. Removed old fuel from fuel tank. 3. Cleaned fuel lines and carburetor bowls. 4. Removed Fuel tank to clean out any debris from inside. 5. Performed a compression test on the engine. Cylinder # 1. 145 psi 2. 145 psi 3. 150 psi 4. 145 psi 5. 150 psi 6. 150 psi Frame alignment was checked per specs in Haynes manual. The mechanic found that the frame is out of alignment, so this will need to be repaired by the buyer Mechanic found previous rust repairs / weld repairs to the sub frame in several locations, the buyer will need to perform additional rust repair work. The engine was run for 15 minutes, reported good oil pressure and also maintained good operating temp In addition to what is photographed, I have an old seat back that needs to be recovered, complete with a rear seat cover and trim repair kit, as well as a trunk lining trim kit that needs to be installed. No spare wheel, tools, tops or jack IMPORTANT - This is a no reserve auction, the car is being sold as-is where-is as a project car, It will require Body, Frame, Paint, Trim, Mechanical & Electrical repairs and is being offered for sale with no warranties or guarantees offered or implied by the seller
Payment Terms: $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction ending Balance payment by bank wire transfer, cashiers check with 7 days of auction ending Pick-up within 14 days of auction ending. Buyer responsible for transportation, tax and title fees in buyers state of registration
New Information:
I spoke with the mechanic that worked on my car this evening 7/12/2021, he told me that the frame misalignment is local to the rear passenger leaf spring mount (only) which appears to have been welded back in the wrong place when the car was restored by the previous owner. I have a few photographs taken of the undercarriage/ frame that I can share with anyone interested in seeing them.
Please send a request via Ebay and I will forward the photographs to you
