Vehicle description
This is a 1965 Mercury Comet with a custom 406ci Tri-Power FE engine swap. Car is all-original paint and interior. Very straight, with a little rust and dents as shown in pictures. Bottom of the body has been blasted and painted. Both bumpers are crooked and need to be redone. Original 6-cylinder car. Very solid, unaltered body.
Engine compartment has been totally redone, cut away shock towers to accommodate big block engine. Front suspension by AJE Mustang Racing with adjustable coilovers and rack-and-pinion steering. Engine is a fresh-built and balanced 406ci Tri-Power, dynoed at 510hp, has short cast iron headers and custom rear-sump oil pan. Transmission is a 4-speed top-loader. 8" Ford rear end, nothing special. Front disc brakes, drum rear. Lots of work done, but unfortunately bad health does not allow me to finish this car.
Primary list of mechanical things left to be done under the hood: - Needs radiator/cooling system - Front brakes hooked up - Power steering pump hooked up - Under-hood wiring harness adapted and connected - Upper strut reinforcement bars finished and mounted - Throttle linkage - Charging system - Carburetor Tri-Power air breather system is missing
With these items completed, the car is basically a driver ready for paint/body and interior. Car body, including grille, headlights, etc, is totally complete.
