Vehicle description
Up for your consideration is my 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone. Yes, this is a true Cyclone with 27 in the VIN. I have clear title in hand. Purchased vehicle in hopes of restoring it, but my interest has now turned to another project and I hate to see it sit. The car will need restoring. Some work has already been done. I will describe to the best of my knowledge what I know from the little time I have owned it. I will certainly send pictures and try to answer any questions you may have. Car does not run at time of this posting. Motor is not locked up as I was able to get the motor to turn. I may try to get it running as it needs a battery, belt and an alternator. I will update posting if I get it running. It has a date coded 1967 289 with a four barrel Holley carb. Has a 3 speed automatic and non-posi rear axle. I believe both to be original to the car but I have not tried to verify this through any numbers matching. No power brakes. No power steering. This car has rare intermittent wipers. Has had floor pans put in it. Has had rear quarter sheet metal work done. Needs additional rear quarter and wheel well sheet metal work done. Rockers are solid. Passenger door descent. It needs very little rust repair. Driver door is a donor from a Falcon. I do have original door tag that matches the VIN. Front quarters have some surface rust. Inner front wheel well areas will need some sheet metal work. Hood is solid. Rechromed bumpers. Trunk lid is good. All glass is good. Interior buckets and rear seat are good. Have the console.
