This wonderful little Studebaker Commander was a California car from new and is an absolutely wonderful car to look at and drive. It has never had rust and has never been in an accident. It is an incredibly original car that has had all major service done to it within the last year.
It has received the following service within the last 12 months: New radial tires Full brake service All fluids flushed and replaced Fuel system flush and replacement Full cleaning of the gas tank New battery Tune up including wiper blades and lights. Detailing Lots of miles driven for sorting and enjoyment.
It can reliably and confidently be driven anywhere as it sits now. It handles really well, tracks beautifully and brakes straight with no pulling or other issues.
Every aspect of the car is really clean and good looking original right down to the original seat belts.
The paint and chrome are original and clean. The chrome has slight hazing but no serious pitting. The door jambs are spotless with no rust anywhere. The wind lacing is original and while not perfect, is really nice for its age. Likewise, the door rubber is in good condition as well.
The interior is excellent with the only two areas of concern being the dash which has splits (I don"t think worth doing) and the AM radio which does not work. The clock I rebuilt and it works perfectly as do all the instruments including gas and charging gauges.
The glass is all original and really nice as well. The interior brightwork is al nice and all of the original interior options; horn, wipers, blinkers, lights (including brights), etc work well. Blinkers, flashers all function as well. All the bulbs were either replaced or inspected when the service was done to the car.
The trunk compartment is spotless and has the liner and spare in place.
The underside has zero rust and is clean with all original sheet metal. The floors are solid original with no rust or repairs anywhere
I have the original owners manual with radio supplement and all of the original keys too.
This is a fun daily driver that you could bring to any event and expect to get a lot of love with it. It is reliable, safe and even gets good gas mileage. I average about 25 miles to the gallon in it. I"ve probably put 500 miles on it in the last year.
I am selling it along with one other car due to no storage and am eager to see it go to a good home.
