Vehicle description
If you"re in the market for a classic Fintail ( Heckflosse ) that can be used as a daily driver or a great candidate for a restoration , this may be the one . This 220 SE has spent its entire existence in California and New Mexico . it is a complete and rust free vehicle . it maintains its original paint and body panels .The doors close as they should . The leather interior is in pretty good shape , with only one notable tear on the drivers seat . The headliner is original and free of tears and sags . All of the glass have the proper German stamping .
I purchased this MB from a family who owned it for 20 years . The car was not running at that time , as it sat idle for over 10 years . I recently had my mechanic change the spark plugs and points . The ignition key was lost , but he was able to find operating mechanical use of the motor , which had good compression on all cylinders . we do have a video of the car running and driving , which is available upon request .
The car has a clear and clean New Mexico Title . at one point , however , it was reassigned a replacement vin tag by the California DMV . The replacement vin number is identical to chassis number that is still attached to the vehicle . i can only assume that the car was out of the DMV system for so long that they issued it a new vin tag using the chassis numbers instead of the original vin numbers . in any case , the car has a clear and clean title .
I have placed a low reserve on this classic in hopes that someone will take it to the next level . The car is too beautiful to sit idle for another 20 years . if you have any questions , feel free to give me a call . Henry 626 598-2378 . Thanks !
