Vehicle description

Up for sale is my 1962 Mercedes 220b Fintail . She is a RUST FREE survivor. I am the 3rd owner and comes with a clear title . Everything you see, except for a NEW dash pad , front fog lights ( not hooked up) and little bit of chrome ( I added ), is original. She is a rare find , with a manual sun roof, ($358.00 option) and dealer added AC and rear shade . Repainted many years ago , I have decided to keep her original . She had about 114,000 miles on the original speedo, and I have put 10,000 or so miles on her since I put in the replacement. 4 speed on the column. She has a ton of documentation form the original owner who cared for her in a meticulous manner. Perfect headliner AC all there and turns on. Compressor works. Needs charged
Does she have bangs and bumps and a few dents ? Of Course , but she is 56 years old and TURNS HEADS everywhere I take her . Certainly could be painted and with a little body work look new, but as they say they are only original once ! The paint is tired, some primer showing , especially on drivers side , but as I said NO RUST I have owned her for several years , and is used just about as a daily driver . Engine - Has a tiny bit of blue smoke at start up but pulls strong and runs great . Always starts Shifts well , no slip Service I have completed or items replaced since I have owned her : Engine mounts Steering damper Shift Bushings Cleaned fuel tank, new filter installed New fuel pump New battery All new rubber brake lines Rebuilt all brake cylinders Rebuilt T50 brake booster · New dash pad New shocks (4) All fluid renewed , including manual trans New plugs ,points and associated wires Valves adjusted Both carburetors rebuilt New brake master cylinder New clutch master cylinder Refinished, renewed all dash wood New tires ( including spare) Interior carpeting and sound batting WORKING (rebuilt) clock WORKING barber pole speedometer
Things to still do All door/trunk seals should be replaced Leaking rear diff – may need new seals , I just add gear oil as needed Front driver seat has some tears, I am fond of the red duct tape , but could be recovered . This is MB TEX Body work if desired ,paint if desired Interior lighting not functioning, but all fixtures are in place I opted not to put in radio, but she does have an antenna in place. AC will need charged
Two sets of keys , and various odds and ends parts Being sold as is, I am representing her as honest as possible. As you know with a car this age , there can be no guarantees. I love these old Mercedes having refurbished many. Please send questions or if you need more pictures . I am selling because I have too many projects to count! I can help arrange shipping if needed, or you can come and get her !
