Vehicle description
Its hard not to be cool driving a pink 1962 Buick Special. This car runs like a champ and has been a great daily driver for my work commute. My mechanic finished an extensive engine rebuild 6 months ago and the Buick has run great since. Among other things they restored compression, machined the heads, put in new exhaust valves and springs, and pressured tested it. Also converted the generator to an alternator and installed new motor mounts. This vehicle runs great on unleaded fuel and has a 2 speed automatic transmission power by the FireBall V6. This was the 1962 Motor Trend Car of the Year.
The interior is functional but could use a little work. The front bench is perfect - it was redone a few years ago and looks great. The rear bench has a tear and could use the treatment the front got. Aftermarket seat belts were installed. I took the carpet out. It was old and original - I haven"t got around to ordering a new carpet kit but I don"t think they are very much. I like it better without anyway. You will see black patches in the pictures from the adhesive/foam lining. Removing the carpet revealed a small rust hole in the drivers floor. Nothing that interferes with functioning of the car and the floor mat covers it. I barely notice it and have driven the Buick in winter and summer. No issue. Someone with more time than me could fix it up fairly easily.
Our project goals have changed so we are selling a couple of vehicles. Again, this is a great daily driver that could easily be turned into a full project if desired - but that isn"t necessary, it is good to go as is. Please contact with questions. I can take more photos of specifics if you desire. Thanks.
