Do something different.
I love the typical classics that people restore or modify, but this time consider something different and interesting. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
*This 1962 Buick Special is the perfect candidate.
*2-door coupe.
*Extremely solid.
*Surface rust but no rust-through that I can find.
*See the photos and note how straight the lines are; the body in general, but also all the gaps (doors, hoods, etc).
*All of the badges, letters, lights, trim, bumpers, etc are present and original, and in good condition.
*Doors, trunk, hood, glove box, etc all close correctly and easily.
*All original glass is in good shape and windows roll up and down easily and properly.
*Current original motor is a V6 ("Motor Trend" motor and car of the year in 1962) but it has a bad cylinder and needs a rebuild. Transmission is a 2-speed auto. *Wiring from the source (headlight, taillight, etc) to the under-dash area where the fuse box goes look fine, but the fuse box is missing. Many of the dash knobs, switches etc are missing, too. . most are available on EBay or you can do a mod.
*Clear and Clean California title in the name of the last official registered owner. There is no handwritings or markings on the title other than the owner release signature and subsequently the title is ready to transfer. I have had a Nevada VIN verification / inspection which is available to the buyer if they want it. You"ll probably have to get one in your state, too. The vehicle"s VIN is in great shape, easily readable and intact on the driver"s side front pillar.

*After I found the bad V6 cylinder, I picked up a SBC 283 that was supposedly rebuilt by AIMS (A Reno/Sparks engine builder) sometime in the near past, and it supposedly has a mild cam (Perfect for this little Buick. Lots of room for a V8). I manually checked for compression on the 283 and it seems to have very good pressure.
*Along with the 283, I got a TH350 transmission (unknown condition).
*I also found that a newer Chevy S10 Blazer 4x4 rear-end is the perfect width for this Buick Special, so you"d get a modern limited-slip along with disc brakes if you did the swap (The rear-end mentioned has not been acquired by me at this time and not available as part of the package).
*A disc brake conversion on the front by you, and you"ve got a really cool little hot rod.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * The build details above are my plans for the car. I"m selling my "52 Chevy Rat Rod, and if it sells before this Buick sells, I"ll start on the Buick with the 283, Th350, Blazer S10 rear-end plan. I personally think that this could be a fast and easy build.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Please review the photos to see the obvious potential in this little car. I included some completed 1962 Buick Specials for an idea of what can be done.
* * My price for the car is $4,100* *
* * If you want the car, the 283 motor and the th350 transmission, my price is $4,900. However, please keep in mind that I cannot guarantee the condition of 283 and Th350.* *
